My new goal was heal the acne I had and prevent new one — I read as much as I could about skin and different types of skin at the book store, library and internet and watched youtube videos people with different types of skin — and compared my self to them. Mario Bedescu has a great section devoted to different kinds of acne. Although their products did not work for me — the website helped me figure out my skin type. My basic routine is this: Simply wash two times daily with a gentle skin cleanser using warm water — use evoo to remove make-up and try cetaphil or dr. bronner’s mixed with sweet almond oil to cleanse the face, and apply moisturizer for sensitive skin. And layer that with a few drops of oil — like evoo, sweet almond oil, argan oil or coconut oil. This will help balance out the dry and normal parts. Honestly the oil felt so good on my skin — if you do not like it for the day — try this last step and night. Use this skincare routine for a month and see if it helps clear up your skin. Do not try some many products at once– your skin needs to adjust to them and heal, acne is like a wound. Do not be afraid of oil on your skin — oils are a natural part of your skin and their presence or excess is not the sole cause of acne — in my case I believe by stripping my skin of oils helped cause/worsen my acne. Once your skin is healed only then should you use chemicals to fade the scars or macules. What I thought were scars are only macules — red marks after an

Summer may be coming to an end, but there’s still time to treat your skin to a smoothie! Strawberries are rich in Salicylic Acid; a powerful medicinal agent for acne sufferers. They are also potent toners – containing Malic Acid – which helps brighten your complexion, and even fade acne scars! Malic acid is also capable of stripping away any discolouration in your teeth. Lastly, sour cream plays the part of an emollient – helping you retain moisture, and nourish your skin. Don’t forget to apply moisturizer after using this facial. Music YUI “Laugh Away”
